Plant Collection Unit was in Lower Botanical Garden from 8.30am to 4.30pm with the Curator Robyn Abernethy. My collection section was in Conifer cultivars. Conifers are more than just pines trees - there are over 600 wild conifers. Most are evergreen trees that have male cones that produce pollen and female cones produce seed. Many of these plants are dwarf conifers and will never grow into larger trees. By nature or nurture, these conifers have been cultivated to be different from their parents. The result is massive variety in form, colour and textures.

Kimberly Burton and myself were removing the weeds using narrow hoe in conifers garden. We also picking all the pine needles around the conifer collections to make the are looks more tidy and neat.
